Pinterest - new tool for finding cool eco products
January 12, 2012 Written By: Savannah A few days ago I signed up for Pinterest; a virtual pinboard that ‘”lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web.” It’s like all of a sudden finding hundreds or thousands of long lost friends who have the same interests as you, but each is twisted a little differently and brings their own flare, cool finds and ideas to the table. And you, my friend, get to visit each of their “homes” for great inspiration or sit down to “talk” to them about new websites or products they find interesting at any time during the day. Needless to say this new wonderland could really take over your life – there are so many new things to learn about, discover, and create. If you’re wondering how exactly this works, you get started by requesting an invitation. Then you create your “boards”. Think of your bulletin boards at home or when you were a kid—it collected things you wanted to remember and this is exactly what your Pinterest “boards” are—a reminder of things you want to do, places to visit, things to make, books to read, products to one day buy, cool spaces to try to mimic, recipes to make, and the list could go on and on… As for my boards, I’m really looking forward to keeping track of and finding new eco-products, natural remedies for healthy living, gardening ideas and tips for our veggies and fruit, sustainable projects for around the house, and so on. Pinterest is another cool tool for collecting ideas on how to live a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Check it out: http://pinterest.com/.
